Apple announced that its head of retail Angela Ahrendts, will be leaving the company in April “for new personal and professional pursuits.” She will be succeeded by Deirdre O’Brien, Apple’s head of human resources, who first joined the company in 1988. Ahrendts joined Apple in 2014 from the British luxury fashion company Burberry, where she had served as CEO for eight years. Upon her appointment, she received a bonus of more than 110,000 restricted stock units, at the time valued at $68 million. Since joining Apple, Ahrendts has been one of the highest-paid executives at the company, earning more than most CEOs in the retail industry.
