Uber adopts diversity targets as performance metric for senior executive bonuses

Ride-hailing company Uber has tied a portion of bonuses for its senior executives to diversity targets as it aims to increase diversity in its top ranks. According to the bonus policy, the target for women representation in senior roles is set at 35 per cent while the target for under-represented employees in middle management and above roles is set at 14 per cent; the timeline for both targets is 2022. The metrics will also apply to CEO Dara Khosrowshahi, who since joining the company in 2017 has focused heavily on the company’s culture.
