UK Companies accused of box ticking over female appointments

According to the annual study by Cranfield University’s School of Management, women serve shorter tenures than men and are less likely promoted to senior roles. The number of women in chair roles among the FTSE 100 companies has fallen and only 48 companies have reached the target of a third of women on their boards. Cranfield concluded that only one in 10 women on FTSE boards were from black, Asia or other minority ethnic backgrounds.
